i was pretty stoked to get an email from my buddy ron, giving me the heads up that he's moving sites over to the *new* webserver... this is something that's been in the pipeline for quite a long time, but looks to finally be happening... and once everything's copied and moved over, my site here will be sitting on a
ColdFusion MX 7 webserver loaded with a few goodies, including
ISAPI_Rewrite, which i've
really been looking forward to... though i'm still not sure how the hell i'll switch the URL's around here over to a more "friendly" version without breaking all the links that currently point at my site... might be blogging about that more later when the time comes, as i could probably use some of your guys expertise in helping me nail down the rewrite expressions, since i pretty much suck at wrapping my skull around 'em.
so i'll be "hands off" the site this evening and hopefully everything will go smoothly and the next time i blog, my site will be sitting under CF7... if the site's really slow or down, then that's what'll be going on.
on the flipside, i submitted another quick FooMix (Random) skin to Mix06 -- which has some different header graphics if you refresh it in IE -- and it'll probably be my last unless i get some uber inspriration and time... not likely, but you never know... i've thrown up at least 4, which is more than i really intended, but maybe i'll get lucky and land one of those kickass custom Xbox 360's -- now that would truly be effin sweet, man.
i was also playing around with the flash Slideshow widget here, and wrote a backend CF page to randomly select from a list of "tags", pipe that into Flickr bringing back an RSS feed, and then rewrite the XML to another format for use in the slideshow... so basically, you refresh the widget and it's loaded with a new set of images based on the random tag selected... pretty damn slick, if i dont say so myself.... heh.
peace out, bitches....... foooooooooooosh!
some closing link'age...

speaking of movies, i watched
I Heart Huckabees lastnight and holy shit, that's one existential movie! i remembered hearing about it (trailer, etc.), but never watched it...

if you havent seen it yet, i'd recommend it -- hard to explain, so i'll just leave it at that... heh.
Dawn Campbell: There's glass between us. You can't deal with my infinite nature can you?
Brad Stand: That is so not true. Wait, what does that even mean?
"How am i not myself?" --- say that five times really fast out loud.

Illinois girl, 16, was choked, beaten and cut up after argument over boys
DIXON, Ill. - The stepmother of a 16-year-old girl whose body was burned, sawed and hidden in two counties said the teen convicted in the killing is "a girl without a soul."
"She didn't cry, I didn't see nothing from her," Joann Reynolds said Wednesday after a jury found 17-year-old Sarah Kolb guilty of first-degree murder and concealing a homicide in the death of Adrianne Reynolds.
Kolb's court-appointed attorney, though, said the teen is not the vindictive killer portrayed by prosecutors. David Hoffman said he spoke briefly with Kolb after the verdict.
"She was scared and anxious and now she's probably as depressed as hell. That's the way I would be," Hoffman said.
sounds like something out of a freak'n movie or something... damn man.

Female Latex Masks By Kerry
Made by that TV gal Kerry and modeled by Mikayla and Kerry.
I started making female latex masks on my own beginning in 1996 because I couldn't find any for sale that I liked. Then someone asked, "Hey, can you sell me one?" and suddenly I was in the mask business! I have tried to expand my line (as much as my meager skills will allow), and to encourage others to make masks on their own.
I am seen here on the right in my homemade mask and latex gloves. The mask is a full-head latex mask made from scratch and detailed by me. This style (on right) has open eyeholes, but I also have made some with painted eyes. The latex gloves were made by casting a friend's hands in plaster in sections and then pouring latex into the resulting mold. The fingernails are fakes glued on. (Sorry, gloves aren't for sale).
man, that's some weird kinky shit, isnt it? *blink*

in lieu of apple celebrating their
1 billion song downloads [insert dr. evil laugh], i figure maybe a little apple humor was in order... especially after talk'n with my co-worker here about the upcoming keynote next week, which he's all excited about... i mean, i dont even know what they're gonna announce, but whatever it is you know it's gonna be effin awesome and revolutionary! heh.
can you imagine downloading a song for a buck, and getting all of this in return?
The lucky music fan who downloaded the billionth song from the iTunes Music Store — won a new 20-inch iMac, 10 60GB iPods, and a $10,000 iTunes Music Card to jumpstart their digital music collection.
like hitting a Macheads wetdream without the rubber, i'm sure.... course, i'd be freak'n out if it were me.
looks like they've come out with another beta for use to play around with, the
Google Page Creator -- which is kinda ironic cuz just the other day somebody mentioned how they seemed to pretty much drop the ball with blogger after they bought it...
nothing new, etc... guess they already had some ideas.

havent really played around with it or anything, but it's always kewl to see online DHTML editors like this, and i'm sure coders will be checking into the methods they used, etc.... heh.
some google vids....

This post is not intended to offend, cause a riot, beheading, flag burning, or other civil unrest.
you'll just have to watch it for yourself, cuz somebody had some king sized freedom-of-speech balls to put this together... almost makes me wonder if it'll catch on like Jib-Jab or something, though i doubt it.... *chuckles*

related: Why I Published Those Cartoons
Childish. Irresponsible. Hate speech. A provocation just for the sake of provocation. A PR stunt. Critics of 12 cartoons of the prophet Muhammad published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten have not minced their words. They say that freedom of expression does not imply an endorsement of insulting people's religious feelings, and besides, they add, the media censor themselves every day. So, please do not teach us a lesson about limitless freedom of speech.
I agree that the freedom to publish things doesn't mean you publish everything. Jyllands-Posten would not publish pornographic images or graphic details of dead bodies; swear words rarely make it into our pages. So we are not fundamentalists in our support for freedom of expression.
But the cartoon story is different.
