thought i'd take a moment and re-post some pic's my buddy jeff blogged of our design hackathon project this past week... wish i had a "before" pic as well, but believe me, it wasn't all that much to look at... i ended up working on two projects, which came in 2nd and 4th place (not too shabby) – anywho, this is our little game room here at the office.

it's 1am and still coding away... managed to get quite a lot done today, too, so i'm pretty pleased about that – feel like i'm starting to wind down a bit, though.

yeah, that's my workstation here at work.

i need another espresso, stat.

on a side note, i went ahead and bought Sublime Text 2 earlier today, after people both online and off kept rave'n about it to me the past couple weeks... been meaning to, just never seemed to get around to it... anywho, i loaded it up on both the PC and Mac, and been coding away with it all day... and they're right – i'm really starting to love this editor... need more practice using these keyboard commands, but i'm sure i'll pick it up as i go.

it doesn't seem that long ago since the last one, but today we kicked off yet another 24-hour hackathon here at addthis – should be fun... lots of guys crank'n out on various projects that they're stoked about.

personally, i'm not being as ambious as i was the last time around... but i still think it's cool... well shit, of course it is. heh.

starting tomorrow morning, we'll be working out of our new office – can't wait, should be pretty sweet.

p.s. at the moment, i'm more curious about the commute though.

we just kicked off another hackathon here at addthis, which means basically cranking away on a project for 24 hours straight – so it's going to be a looooooong one.

it'll be nice to take a break later on tonight and go see the new batman movie – that'll be pretty nice... then come back afterwards, crank away and finalize shit... get some breakfast, and hopefully make it home without getting in an accident from sleep deprivation.

good times.

i spent the afternoon over at the architectect/designers with my buddy jeff to look over some design materials for our new office space... just to get an idea of the different color schemes and materials, etc... was pretty cool, and glad i went... think it'll look pretty slick once it's all done – here's a few quick snaps.

well, it's that time once again.... every now and then, we have a hackthon here at work, and today's the day for our latest one – meaning, we've all thought about different projects and things we'd like to do, got together with our buddies, and will be hack'n away at it for the next 24 hours.

it's going to be a loooooooong day, that's for sure!

...and yes, i'm going to be one tired mofo come morning.

well, it seems i've finally taken the last step towards apple nirvana... yup, they got me a new macbook pro to use at work, so i'll be transitioning over to using it more and more over the next couple months – even though i have a mac at home, i don't use it for web related work all that much to be honest, so this will be kind of new to me as odd as that might seem.

my buddy austin walked me through installing grails lastnight, and then today i had Terminal open and was mess'n around getting my local dev stack setup with apache, mysql, subversion, etc... so i'm feeling a little more "geeky" than usual at the moment.

i dropped nearly $2k the other day ordering some new toys for work, which is fine since you can just expense it out, and i was happily surprised at how fast the turnaround times are... literally only took a couple days, which is awesome – almost as awesome as getting some new toys to play around with loaded up on your desk at work... like this new 7" Samsung GalaxyTab, 10.1" Eee Transformer, iPad, and a legit copy of Adobe Photoshop C5.

i took the GalaxyTab home with me over the weekend to play around with, and i have to say that even though it's a bit thicker than i thought it'd be, i actually like the smaller form size & form factor of it over it's larger tab brothers... still think that the UI isn't quite as nice and polished as what you see from Apple (iOS), but it's not that bad at all – fact that it can play flash is pretty damn nice, too, despite what we prefer and advocate as webheads.

even after using it for a weekend, i'm still not completely sold on it though... least for personal use... even if it can be kinda nice and convenient.
