i haven't picked up or played the game, even though i've heard good things about it... actually, there's not much as far as video games go that i'm all excited about... only game i can think of off the top of my head that i'm looking forward to is Crackdown 2, which comes out next month.

saw this announcement trailer for LittleBigPlanet 2 yesterday and i think my jaw actually dropped a little... holy shit man, this game looks amazingly fun! i wasn't totally sold on the first one to start with, but after playing it i thought it was great... but check this shit out:
no idea when it's supposed to be coming out or anything, but hopefully it's later this year... should be fun.
well, let me start by saying that i was all excited going home lastnight, thinking i'd just sit down and fire up the beta... for some reason, it never even occured to me that i'd have to download a 1.15GB demo -- which took fucking forever to download... servers were getting hammered, and it probably took me around 4 hours to download. *blink*
guess it kind of worked out, cuz i just started the download and then got something to eat, and chilled out to watch jack bauer kick some more ass in "24" (another great episode lastnight)... then finally was able to sit down and play a couple rounds online.
graphics look great, and the overall gameplay is pretty crazy... feels like a lot more shit going on, what with the new "abilities" and loadouts -- i dig the jetpack and sprinting... being able to quickly select your spawn point was nice, and overall it just felt pretty frantic but in a good way.
my first two rounds sucked ass... i died alot, flew into a few walls, and couldn't seem to make the mental switch on the melee button being moved on my ass... oh, and getting assasinated from behind really is pretty humiliating — especially when you hear the jackass on the other side laughing his ass off.
hopefully the beta is around for awhile, because i definitely need some practice... haven't been playing halo much, and it shows. *chuckle*
i know that not many of you are into Halo, or all that excited about it... but if you're a fan like me, then you're probably itching to get home and fire up your 360 (if it's still working) to checkout the multiplayer beta for bungie's lastest game — Halo Reach — and after waiting and waiting for months, the beta if finally open for us to jump in and play.
can't fucking wait to get home and play.
i can't fucking believe this, but my 360 elite died on me this weekend... two days before the Halo Reach multiplayer beta, and my xbox decides to have a meltdown and red ring on my ass — what timing, aye?
so i went to Best Buy yesterday to exchange it, knowing that i'd bought the "protection plan" the last time around, only to have them tell me that they no longer can just give you a replacement 360 at the store but have to send it into microsoft — with the plan, you simply get a refurbished one quicker than waiting around for 4-6 weeks... so i dropped $80 on a protection plan that simply gets me a refurbished 360 in a week or two? ugh... wasn't too happy about that, and thought it kind of sucked ballsack to be honest.
i ended up grabbing an Arcade for $200 and will use that for the next week or two until i get my black elite back -- then i'll just pack it back up and return it to Best Buy and get my money back. bastards.
i'm not even sure anymore, but i think this will be either my third or fourth 360... unbelievable.
with the Halo Reach mutiplayer beta coming out in the next week or so, the hype and excitement for gamers is starting to pickup... and if you're a Halo fan, then you're already all over this and probably been visiting bungie.net religiously in hopes of picking up all the latest info, rumors, and screenies — ummm, not that i would be one of 'em or anything. *ahem*
after seeing this latest Halo Reach ViDoc, i really started to feel that old familiar excitement for the game... we've known about the game for at least a year now, and have seen some screen grabs, etc... but i haven't really seen any gameplay foot'age until now, and g'damn it looks fun as shit.
can't wait for the beta, mang.... carnage is right. heh.
it took me awhile, what with the damn AC not working when i turned it on for the first time in months last week... when i'm hot and miserable, i just don't want to do anything... all energy or willpower to do shit goes right out the window, and that includes gaming... but i did manage to play here and there, and finally finished up this weekend.
man, what a great fucking game! would like to say it was worth the 4 year wait to play... and it was totally worth it — the graphics were awesome as hell, it was smooth as butter on the PS3 and i didn't notice any jaggies or anything... even the sound effects and music were great and was sweet on my surround sound.
even though i only played on the 'normal' mode, i actually thought it was kind of hard in a few places... some of those bosses were wicked as hell, and sure seemed like they stepped it up a notch in almost everyway possible... it really did feel as badass as the first one to me, and that's saying something.
i actually want to play it again, which is something i rarely do. heh.
i actually got home later than i would've liked and didn't get around to fire'n up the playstation until around 10:30 or so... and at that point, i had a decision to make — either start the game and check it out, knowing that somehow hours can magically disappear on you really quick... or hold off playing it until i knew i had the time to sit down and enjoy it... fuck that, i fired it up.
crappy iphone shot, i know, but felt like taking a quick photo of it anyways... i did manage to keep myself to only playing the first level, though, which i'm kind of proud of... and g'damn, this game is awesome... looks great, runs smooth, and it definitely has that big sense of "scale" when playing it... and man, it really just throws you right into it it, which i loved... and that battle with Poseidon? holy shit, now that was a lot of fun... almost want to start the game over just so i can replay that again. heh.
man, it was hard getting up and going into work this morning.
dude... i've been pretty excited and amped about this game release, and have been waiting for what feels like forever for it to come out... and today is the day -- hot damn, i can't wait to swing by gamestop on my way home tonight and pickup my reserved copy.
part of me is half-tempted to call out sick tomorrow... y'know, like i already feel this nebulous *cough* coming on here -- then again, there's so much work to be done and i know i'd feel guilty doing it... so chances of that are low, but i'll make up for it this weekend for sure.
i'm totally in the mood for some epic carnage... oh fuck yeah.
PlayStation Move: Everything You Need To Know
lots of noise about this one over the past few days or so, and i have to say... my first thought was along the lines of "pretty fucking lame, man"... and seriously, what the hell is up with the colored balls? i'm sure the thing has some sort of feedback, which means it vibrates... with that in mind, i'm sure you can think of a few colorfoo applications. *blink*
i've never really big a big fan of JRPG's like Final Fantasy... but damned if i'm not finding myself all curious and wondering if it's worth picking up a copy of the game, which came out today, and checking it out.
anybody picking up the game? i'll probably just wait until i see it one day for like $20 and will buy it on impulse... oh, and God of War III is out next week, and the waiting is killing me, man.
if there's two games that i'm totally amped about, and eagerly awaiting, this year it would definitely be God of War III and Halo Reach... and here's an early mutliplayer video from the guys at bungie.
