on the flipside, i think that brady is one of the best quarterbacks we've seen.

Barack Obama's favorability in the polls fell when he acted like himself â?? overexposed, hard-left in his press conferences, and boastful about legislative achievements like Obamacare and a stimulus of more than $1 trillion.

Then a strange thing happened. Obama largely went quiet. Often he was out of sight, vacationing in Hawaii or golfing. It was almost as if he had learned that the less he was seen or heard, the more Americans liked the idea of Obama as president rather than the reality of his constant "Make no mistake about it" and "Let me be perfectly clear" sermonizing.

Obama has now edged ahead of his potential Republican rivals in the polls. He waited for the noisy Republicans to grab national attention in the debates and primaries before moving hard to the left to firm up his base. So while the nation was amused, repelled, and bored by the constant back-and-forth over Mitt Romneyâ??s moneymaking and Newt Gingrich's marriages and off-the-cuff philosophizing, President Obama matter-of-factly canceled the vital Keystone-pipeline project.

He even more quietly prepared to ask Congress to raise the debt ceiling to over $16 trillion to accommodate his fourth consecutive reckless trillion-dollar-plus annual deficit -- while planning to slash the defense budget in the next decade. Did anyone notice that he made controversial "recess" appointments when Congress was not really in recess -- a tactic that, as a senator, he had opposed?

New Sexy Design
there's a lot of changes here, but mainly we wanted to combine both the Signin and Registration pages into one, where you can click back-n-forth on the tabs to do either one – with an emphasis on using social sign in's like facebook, twitter, and google.

The Current Design
in the current version, both the Sign In and Registration pages are seperate, with their own URLs and not as much emphasis on social login buttons.

i was really pulling for the new sexy design, and was kind of dismayed to find out after a few days of A+B testing that it was actually performing worse than the current (control) version that we have up now.... yeah, shocked me too, but i guess that's why we test things to find out what works and what doesn't... i still don't want to give up on it, though, and believe with a few tweaks it can work just as good as the current version for users.

anywho, thought i'd blog about it since i found it pretty damn intresting.

Nearly five thousand revelers hoping for an early spring were disappointed today after Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.

But those winter jackets may be able to go in the closet sooner than the forecasting groundhog has to say.

It turns out the ultimate prognosticator- and his copycat counterparts- are wrong more often than they are right.

An analysis by the National Climatic Data Center found there is no correlation between Phil's predictions and the actual weather.

But don't tell that to the members of the Groundhog club's Inner Circle in Punxsutawney, Pa.

"I would argue with the comments he doesn't have a great track record," Jon Johnston, Phil's "Chief Healthman" told ABCNews.com. "They're missing the point then. It's always winter somewhere."

And more often than not, Phil agrees.

It's widely reported that Facebook is going to file for an IPO today, and likely that the offering will be in the $5 billion range. Time to start digging up your backyard bullion stash, right? Wrong. For the average guy the Facebook IPO is strictly Like, don't touch.

So I Can Buy Facebook Shares Today?

Nope! Sorry. What's reportedly happening today (and almost certainly happening this week) is that Facebook is filing a propectus for its IPO with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The prospectus will be a fun read for the finance folk; it's an in-depth look at finances, projections, and how Facebook sees the competitive landscape.

It's also when Facebook finally says how much it thinks it's worth. Or rather, how much the investment bankers it hired (supposedly Morgan Stanley and a few others, in this case). And when I say "worth," I don't mean how much money it has in the bank or how much revenue it takes in. The gigantic number (that $100 billion) that you'll hear associated with Facebook today is a flimsy one, a guess. It's how much the company is expected to be worth as it continues to grow over time.

After the prospectus has been submitted, there's a "quiet period" while the SEC considers its validity. Bottom line: Assuming Facebook files all its papers today—and they're all in order—it's going to be a few months before Facebook shares are actually listed.

dude, it's going to be pretty effin crazy to see just how much Facebook ends up being valued at if they do end up going IPO this week – with 800 million users, i can't even quite wrap my head around it... hell, to be honest, i don't know how much further they can go before tap'n out... i never thought that many people would sign up and use it the site.
